The roots of Knoxville, TN's Wolf At The Door can be traced back to the fall of 2010, shortly after lead vocalist and guitarist Gene Priest and lead guitarist Brian Woodruff completed a short outing in support of Gene Priest’s Lapdance Academy release Living to Die EP. The band began as a trio with Priest covering vocal and percussion duties, guitarist Woodruff and pianist Derek Jones, whom also contributed backing vocals.

The trio played a few shows before deciding to expand their sound and lineup, adding bassist Henry Gibson and drummer Nathan Gilleran, allowing Priest to move from behind the drum set to secondary guitar as well as becoming the groups’ visible front man. Since becoming a 5-piece, the bands’ improved live show has increased the attention the band is receiving, even garnering them an opening slot for David Bazan during his recent stop in Knoxville.

In August of 2011, the band entered Rock Snob Studios to work on their debut LP, American Castles, tentatively due out in Spring 2012. Prior to the records release, Wolf At The Door released a single for the song, "Weary Bones," available both digitally and as a limited edition cd-single limited to 50 copies. The single also includes two home demos of songs due to appear on the forthcoming debut, as well as a special cover song.

With an undeniable stage presence, hooks that beckon to be sang aloud and a rhythm section whose sole purpose seems to be to keep your body moving all night, Wolf At The Door may be just over a year old, but musically and lyrically they are wise beyond their years.
